DIGITAL PAINTING: “One Of You Shall Betray Me”

This hasn’t got a huge deep religious meaning behind it. In fact, it can be summarised thus:

1. My family had a big black labradoodle with anger management issues, who somehow sensed that our new blue-grey lurcher puppy was here to replace him, and loomed up above him in a particular photo of the two. (The lurcher has happily remained our dog ever since.)
2. Said labradoodle had an uncanny resemblance to the actor Joseph Mawle when he starred as Jesus in the BBC drama The Passion, not to be confused with the deplorable Gibson vehicle.
3. I really really wanted to mess around with bits of Adobe Photoshop Elements.

That’s the long and the short of it.

Be prepared for NEW!, fresher-looking stuff in coming weeks, some of it to do with China and some of it not at all to do with China. I have no scanner here either, so it’ll be displayed with the medium of grainy photos, alas. I apologize profusely.

CHARACTER DESIGN: “Marius Manitoba, On His Boat Of Bones”

Named on-the-spot for a wolf breed, Marius began his life as a simple white-robed figure with a blank face. Now, his mask is stuck with pins for every life he has touched, and his boat is built of the bones of those who died to keep him fed. 

Marius once thought he was like the ferrymen of folk-tales, and could pass his rudder onto another unlucky soul, and let the wolf’s face be bonded to another old head.

He thinks differently now.
